Game Summary

At Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, the Ottawa Rough Riders came out to visit the Edmonton Eskimos and hoped to put some distance between themselves and the Toronto Argonauts, who are chasing the Rough Riders for a playoff position in the Eastern Division. The game turned out to be all Edmonton right from the start as they opened with a single from K Sean Fleming, and a TD from QB Damon Allen to WR Eddie Brown on a 71-yard pass to give the Esks an 8-0 lead after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd, Edmonton added to their lead when Allen hit WR “Gizmo” Williams for a 102 yard TD pass before Ottawa scored their only points of the day when K Greg Duncan kicked for a single. In the second half, Edmonton scored a single and a field goal from Fleming on his 29-yard FG to make the final 19-1 in favour of the Eskimos.
