Game Notes

Game Summary

League rushing leader Mike Pringle proved to be too much for the Argo defence to control. He ran for 166 yards and one touchdown leading his Stallions to a decisive victory over the struggling Argonauts. Baltimore opened the scoring with Carlos Huerta booting a 49 yard field goal. Toronto fought back scoring their first offensive touchdown in four games when Mike “Pinball” Clemons caught a 5 yard Kent Austin pass. Terry Baker kicked the convert. Huerta got his second of two field goals for the game, this time from 17 yards out. Stallion QB Tracy Ham threw a 36 yard touchdown pass to Shannon Culver to start Baltimore’s rout of Toronto. Huerta kicked the convert as he did on all five Stallion touchdowns. The only scoring in the second quarter was by Tracy Ham who ran the ball in himself to extend Baltimore’s lead going into half time to 20-7. Chris Armstrong was the recipient of Ham’s second passing touchdown for the day. The play covered 25 yards. Pringle’s TD came near the end of the third quarter on a 4 yard run. Late in the third quarter Toronto broke up Baltimore’s scoring streak as Jock Climie caught a 5 yard pass from Kent Austin and Terry Baker kicked the convert. The Stallions rounded out their scoring as second string QB Shawn Jones threw a 32 yard pass to Peter Tuipulotu. The win holds Baltimore’s lead in the Southern Division firm with their record of 7 wins and 3 losses.
