The Lions scored first on a 47-yard FG by Lui Passaglia, but that was all the points B.C. could manage as Calgary built up a 23-3 lead by half-time. Mark McLoughlin scored 3 FGs (22, 29 and 12 yards), and Doug Flutie threw 2 TDs passes, to Dave Sapunjis (40 yards) and Allen Pitts (23 yards). Early in the 3rd quarter Flutie hit Sapunjis for his 2nd TD of the game from 12 yards out to make the score 30-3, before B.C. began their comeback bid. Passaglia connected on a 21-yard FG and QB Danny Barrett passed 32 yards to Mike Trevathan for a major. McLoughin added a single and a 36-yard FG, before Barrett again hit Trevathan (2 yards) for a TD to round out the scoring on the night. A crowd of 31,199 was on hand at B.C. Place Stadium to see the game. Flutie was good on 25-of-40 for 413 yards and 3 TDs.
