The Hamilton Tiger-Cats arrived at Taylor Field on Sunday hoping to follow their winning ways after the team’s victory over Toronto last Monday, however the Roughriders put those wishes to rest in a 33-10 romp before 21,772 fans. The game was all Saskatchewan from the beginning as they hit for 8 points on a single from K Brent Matich and a TD from RB Darrell Wallace on a 2-yard run in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, QB Kent Austin hit SB Ray Elgaard for a TD from 22 yards away and Wallace added his 2nd of the day on a 1-yard plunge into the end zone before Hamilton finally got on the board with a 42-yard field goal from K Paul Osbaldiston to make the score 22-3 for the Roughriders. Saskatchewan continued its scoring run in the 2nd half when K Dave Ridgway kicked a 34-yarder through the uprights and Austin hit WR Don Narcisse on a 10-yard pass. The 4th quarter saw Matich kick for another single and Hamilton scored their only major as WR Cornell Burbage caught a 22-yard pass from QB Don McPherson to make the final score 33-10 for Saskatchewan.
