After a disappointing loss in Hamilton last week, the San Antonio Texans were hungry for a win to hold their third place standing in the Southern Division. Running back Troy Mills got the Texans on the board first carrying the ball in from the 1-yard line for the touchdown. Gary Anderson kicked the convert. Anderson was called upon twice more in the half to attempt field goals. He made good on both from 18 and 21 yards respectively. Memphis managed to score a safety late in the half as a high snap got away from punter Anthony Jordan. Memphis kicker Nick Mystrom opened scoring in the second half sending a 12 yard field goal threw the uprights. Aaron Kanner notched a single for Memphis on a 52 yard punt that went into the end zone. Anderson booted a 19 yard field goal for San Antonio to end the scoring for the third quarter. Maurice Miller recovered a Rickey Foggie fumble caused by Roosevelt Collins in the end zone for a touchdown. Anderson’s convert attempt was good. Anderson kicked his fourth field goal of the day to round out the scoring. The win gives San Antonio 10 points and puts them in a tie with Birmingham in the Southern Division.
