Game Summary

With Memphis’ win on Sunday, the Texans came to the SkyDome in Toronto motivated to hold their third place rank in the Southern Division. It was evident from the start that San Antonio came to play. Troy Mills ran the ball in from the 1-yard line to open scoring. Roman Anderson kicked the convert. Toronto kicker Terry Baker sent a 42 yard shot threw the uprights to get the Argos on the board before the end of the quarter. Early in the second quarter Baker kicked a 37 yard field goal to get within 1 point of the Texans. However, San Antonio RB Mike Saunders scored a 9 yard rushing touchdown extending the Texans lead. Minutes later Mark Stock caught a 45 yard David Archer pass for another Texan TD. Anderson kicked the convert. Toronto capitalized on an interception by Don Wilson as Duane Forde ran the ball in from the 1-yard line for the major. Baker’s convert attempt was good. As time expired in the first half, Anderson kicked a 35 yard field goal making the score 24 to 13 for San Antonio. The teams scored two touchdowns each in the third quarter. Saunders opened the scoring with an 18 yard TD pass from Archer. For Toronto, relief QB Marvin Graves threw a 43 yard TD pass to Paul Masotti. Mills got his second touchdown of the game taking the ball in from the 2-yard line. Graves got on the board himself taking the ball in from the 1-yard line for the major. Roman Anderson kicked a 13 yard field goal extending San Antonio’s lead. Saunders scored his third TD of the night catching a 1 yard pass from Archer. Anderson kicked the convert. San Antonio held Toronto off the score board in the fourth quarter making the final 48 to 27 for the Texans.
