With their locker room looking like a M.A.S.H unit, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats were looking to snap their extended losing streak against a very solid Edmonton Eskimos club. The Eskimos, on the other hand, were coming off an impressive win over the Calgary Stampeders. Hamilton’s Paul Osbaldiston and Edmonton’s Sean Fleming traded first quarter field goals before the Tiger-Cats scored the first major of the game, a 7 yard touchdown pass from QB Mike Kerrigan to WR Burt Thornton at 2:40 of the second quarter. Osbaldiston and Fleming again swapped field goals to round out the first half scoring with the Tabbies on top by a 11-6 margin. Osbaldiston opened up the second half scoring with a 36 yard field goal at 10:59 and then Fleming recorded a 46 yard single after a missed FG to make the score 14-7 after three quarters of play. Osbaldiston extended Hamilton’s lead to 13 with two FGs from 29 and 24 yards out. The Eskimos then cut the lead to 7 when QB Cody Ledbetter hooked up with RB Tony Burse for a 5 yard touchdown reception. The Fleming convert cut the lead to 6 but this was as close as the Esks would get. The final from Ivor Wynne Stadium, Hamilton 20, Edmonton 14.
