Britannia protested game as Hal Walters had been expelled from the QRFU in 1897 and Alf Tobin was not a bona fide member of the Ottawa College Athletic Association./p>

At the QRFU Executive Meeting on Wednesday, October 16 the Hal Walters protest was not allowed but Tobin's was upheld and the Britannia FC was awarded the win.
