  • Feb. 9, 1995 San Antonio City Council agrees to move forward with talks to relocate the Sacramento franchise to San Antonio and a five-year lease for the team to play in the Alamodome
  • Feb. 16, 1995 San Antonio City Council officially and unanimously accepted the terms of the agreement to move the Sacramento Gold Miners to San Antonio to play in the Alamodome.
  • Feb. 21, 1995 Fred Anderson officially signs agreement to move team to San Antonio.
  • March 1995 After previously indicating the team would keep the nickname Gold Miners, an announcement is made the team will be known as the San Antonio Texans.
