Nick Mazzoli led the scoring procession with 3 touchdowns. His first came early in the game on a 6 yard pass from Chris Vargas. Sean Fleming kicked the converts on 7 of the Edmonton touchdowns. The second quarter saw 3 more Edmonton touchdowns. WR Charles J. Davis caught a 14 yard pass from Vargas to open the scoring for the quarter. Fleming kicked a 50 yard field goal to continue the Eskimos’ trouncing. Just back from an injury, Eric L. Blount got in the scoring with a 5 yard touchdown run. On the ensuing kick off Fleming launched the ball 83 yards to record the single. With time fading in the half, Vargas connected with Mazzoli for a 55 yard TD pass. Edmonton led 32 to 0 at half time. RB Michael Soles took the ball in from the 1-yard line to open scoring in the second half. Ottawa kicker Wayne Lammle ruined Edmonton’s shutout bid with a 50 yard field goal midway through the quarter. On the last play of the quarter Mazzoli notched his third TD of the game catching a Vargas pass from 50 yards out. Blount scored his second rushing touchdown of the game taking the ball in from the 51-yard line. Fleming, who entered the game second in the CFL amongst kickers in points scored, booted another field goal, this time from 45 yards out. Michael Soles got on the score sheet again carrying the ball in from the 4-yard line for the major. Glenn Harper came in to kick the convert. The decisive win moves the Eskimos into a tie with B.C. for second place in the Northern Division.
